The Chargers have placed linebacker Bront Bird on Reserve-Injured (knee).
A rookie from Texas Tech, Bird played in nine games this season, mostly on special teams where he was fifth on the team with eight tackles.
The team has not announced a replacement yet for Bird on the active roster.
Also, practice squad running back Jordan Todman has been signed by the Minnesota Vikings to their active roster. He’ll be replaced on the Chargers’ practice squad by Shawnbrey McNeal, a first-year running back who went to training camp with the Chargers in 2010 and ’11 and spent time on Atlanta’s and Washington’s practice squads in 2010.
